452Xtra Bowstring material represents the next evolution of a proven performance platform. Using a patented blend of 67% Dyneema® and 33% Vectran, this upgraded version incorporates a new, highly abrasion-resistant Vectran fiber to reduce fraying and extend service life. It retains the same dimensions, strength, and handling characteristics as traditional 452X, while offering enhanced durability under demanding use.
The material is completely stable and exhibits no creep, ensuring consistent brace height and tuning stability from the first shot onward. This reliability makes it an excellent choice for archers who prioritize repeatable performance and minimal maintenance.
452Xtra is recommended for compound bows using 20–24 strands and Olympic recurve bows with 18–20 strands at draw weights of 30 pounds (13.6 kg) or higher. The balanced construction supports smooth shooting behavior, controlled speed, and excellent energy transfer.
With approximately 8,800 feet (2,682 meters) per pound waxed, the material provides efficient yield for string builders.
